look into my eyes look into my eyes Luca had long since settled into Namimori and police work in a new country. He'd crashed for a few days in the police station itself until he'd found a place to stay. It was just a quaint little apartment not far from work and everything else...and it allowed pets! Allowing pets was always a plus for Luca - who might as well be a pet the way some people treated him, especially children. Apparently, children had some sort of sixth sense when it came to labeling him as a pet with all his feline tendencies. His co-workers daughter had labeled him as 'kitty,' and he was trying so hard not to act like that! He didn't want the awkward conversation coming up of "Oh...I'm part cat...meow?" with Makoto.
Luca had just gotten off of work after a long day and evening. He'd done an evening patrol before getting off of work and had arrested some punk kid stealing electronics from one of the stores. The kid was currently sitting in a holding cell, waiting for his parents to come bail him out. Maybe a night in jail would teach him a lesson, though. Luca sighed sleepily as he stepped out of the station. Go home and sleep was his definite plan. It wasn't too early in the evening where sleep was weird, but it wasn't too late either. He padded lightly along the side-walk, headed towards his apartment, when as usual...a stray cat bounced out of the alleyway and wound around his legs, meowing at him. Luca sighed and picked up the cat, scratching under it's chin. "I bet you're hungry..." he mused, fishing around in messenger bag for some cat treats - he always had them. He didn't like to admit it or let anybody know, but he had a soft spot for cat treats. The cat greedily took the treats from Luca's hand while Luca himself, pushing a couple into his mouth. They were homemade because there was noway in hell he'd go near the store-bought shit with that fake meat stuff.
He continued walking, holding the cat in his arms as he walked. It was a young female and as he felt her stomach from holding her, he realized she was pregnant. Well...his apartment allowed pets. There were a few kids running around and the landlord was a nice old lady...she'd probably allow it and some of the kids would probably want a kitten. He opened his messenger bag and put the cat in it, her head sticking out of the side comfortable. It was a stray, but super friendly...or maybe it was just him. Cats loved him, even the meanest ones. He just sort of wished that his experiments had lead to eventual conversation with them. Not that he'd wish for continued experiments...but he just wished he could hold an actual conversation with cats.
He sighed, scratching the cat behind the ear. "And so it begins," he muttered in reference to taking cats home. He wondered if Makoto would eventually want a kitten for his daughter? Cats are the best after all.

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Makoto was just way too tired for all of this, he hadn't been sleeping a lot lately. If only because of how he was feeling lately. And the other stuff he had to deal with that he did not wish to talk about. People did not need to hear what he was thinking anyway. Simple thought now wasn't it? To just try to keep things to himself. What was he even doing out here? It'd probably not end up getting him anywhere as far as he was concerned. Still he left his girl with Ryuu's family again. He did still trust them however at the same time he did not know what to do. It was a seriously confusing moment for Makoto. To try to sort through his own muddled thoughts. He probably shouldn't even be out here right now. If he even got caught he'd likely hear it from someone. But oh well. Makoto had been working really hard as of lately. With that being said he didn't entirely know what to do or how to go about these things. Sighing lightly it seemed almost difficult to sort through his weird thoughts. Trying to figure out just what to do, where to go. If he could trust them. It all seemed to be too much at that time anyway. However would it matter in the long run? At the very end would it get him anywhere, or get anything done properly. Very likely not but what else could he do. He had to wonder where Luca had been anyway. Walking down the street he just rubbed his eyes and yawned. He had no idea that he'd end up seeing Luca today. It wasn't until he walked up to see Luca and what looked like a cat. Really the reason his daughter called him kitty man was probably because of that anyway. However he'd still rather not talk about it now anyway. "No wonder my daughter calls you kitty. Jeez, how many have you picked up so far?" He didn't really care. Kittens were cute, he was just a stubborn man who happened to be exhausted right now anyway. So it begins huh? Well whatever he wanted to do. It was not something he would dig into too much. Right now he was just curious about what Luca was doing. Where would he keep a cat? They demanded so much attention almost all the time. He was sure of that much at least. Luca di Leone, @open |

look into my eyes look into my eyes Luca was rather entranced by his new animal companion that it was probably a good thing that he had placed her in the bag, or he might have dropped her. He was rather startled by the voice that filtered into his ears and about jumped out of his own skin. He calmed down when his mind comprehended who the voice and the distinct scent belonged to - sometimes, being basically half-cat was helpful. A lot of his senses were enhanced although, having enhanced smell wasn't always the greatest thing.
His composure returned after a brief moment and the other turned to face Makoto, pretending like he hadn't just been started by the other's voice and prescense. "She's the only cat I've picked up, I swear. The ones I feed around my apartment don't count," Luca stated, incredibly defensively. It was a wonder of how many he allowed into his apartment on a regular basis without actually owning them, though. He liked cuddling with cats some nights and they did drive away the lonely feeling he had in his apartment. Having this new cat in his life would be helpful, in the long-run. He reached into the bag again, pulling the cat out and into his arms. "She's expecting kittens," he stated rather evenly, as his hands rubbed over her stomach for a moment, massaging it lightly as he felt the small bundles of kitten-y goodness in her womb. "Not sure how many...four?" He couldn't quite figure out how many. "Considering this, I couldn't just leave her out here...that'd be cruel..." Luca stated, in a defensive explanation with this adorable sort of expression on his face, like a small child begging their parents for something and then getting it.
He didn't really want the other knowing about his cat obsession, but they had worked together several times already and between the fact that some of his mannerisms were rather cat-like and the other's daughter referring to him as "kitty" were some indicators of an obsession with cats. "Speaking of your daughter and calling me kitty..." Luca trailed off and lifted the female cat slightly higher to let the cat's eyes mournfully look into Makoto's. "Would you want one of her kittens? You can't say no to this face, right?" Luca glanced above the cat's head, some sort of puppy face over his features. "I can't take all of them, of course...even if I want to. I know you're busy...but cats are self-sufficient, mostly. They're great..." Luca's eyes lit up for a moment, excitedly as he spouted off a random fact. "They have better hearing than a dog, you know. And they do almost always land on their feet because they lack a functional collarbone and their spines are flexible." He opened his mouth to spout off a few more facts, but instead blushed red when he realized that he was rambling on about cats.
