We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu scowled slightly from his position on the roof as he watched over Makoto. The man had dug himself a deep hole that he wasn't easily climbing out of. For some reason, somebody had the brilliant idea to send assassins after the police officer. What sort of business had the other gotten into that somebody took the time to hire assassins to kill a police officer? Ryuu knew some of his work revolved around the mafia, so he supposed he could understand if he was getting too close to various families that didn't like it.
Ryuu took a cursory glance of the area, on the look out. This had been going on for several days now and Ryuu didn't really know why...but it was cutting into a lot of things! His research on helping Gavril's mom with her condition, his own training, work, time with Silvia, school...and he was not a happy camper, at all. Sleep was getting affected too since assassins were a nightly thing. His mom alternated with him, especially after Makoto picked up his daughter from under her watchful gaze. Some assassin even had the balls to go after her...and Rika was like an angry mother bear when it came to kids.
Ryuu's gaze flickered over the area as he watched a figured climb into a rooftop, with a sniper rifle in hand, his intend obviously on Makoto. Ryuu let out a groan from deep within. He'd have to get over there, without Makoto noticing because it was the opposite side. He didn't really have time to go the long way around to get over there. If Makoto noticed something amiss...well, Ryuu was wearing his assassination garb, which included a mask to cover his face and a hood to hide his hair. He didn't want Makoto recognizing him, so he was doing the subtle, incognito mode.
Ryuu sighed, looking for the quickest, yet shorted route to the other side of the street and that was just up ahead where the street narrowed slightly. He bounced along the rooftops until he reached his destination and glanced upward, the moon was bright...so it was likely that his figure would be seen leaping across. It was narrow, but not narrow enough. He smirked widely, putting some of his scientific knowledge to the test. He backed up to the edge of roof and darted forward, leaping into free air. Rain flames coated his boots as he forced the air and water molecules to slow enough to freeze, allowing him some form of platform to complete his way across. He landed neatly on the rooftop as he dashed across the other ways, drawing his blades as he did. He'd warned assassins already. No mercy. It was too late for the assassin as he noticed his own assassin and brought up his rifle to try to block the sword, Ryuu deflected it with one blade, bringing the other up to neatly slice through the torso of the man before him. Blood splashed across his face, hidden by his mask and dripped off the edge of his katana. He clicked his tongue as he removed the mask to clean the blood off of it as he glanced over the edge of the rooftop to look for Makoto again, hoping that the dying sounds of the assassin he had just assassinated hadn't alerted him.
Ryuu sighed and stepped back from the edge, to avoid being seen as he clicked his ear piece radio one. "Got another one, mother."
On the other end, Rika flicked her own communication device on as she surveyed the body of an assassin in her dojo. She flicked the blood off her own katana back onto him. "I got one here too. I have a clean-up team on the way...she's asleep rig..." The sounds of footsteps coming down the stairs and Rika shoved the body into one of the storage closets and smiled at the small girl in the room. "Do you need something?"
"Water..." grumbled the small, sleepy-eyed girl as she didn't really notice anything amiss, like the blood stain that Rika had tactfully stepped in front of. She smiled, leading the girl away from the dojo area and into the kitchen. "Okay, dear...your daddy will be here to pick you up soon...he's on his way home right now."
Ryuu flicked off his communication device, since Rika wasn't able to at the moment as he looked at the body in front of him. "Don't you guys talk to each other? You'd think warning them that I would legit kill them would make them just stop." Ryuu stated, groaning sleepily. "I hate life right now. Makoto, stop getting into trouble!" He said this slightly louder, hoping that the voice echoing would be like some...subconscious message of him not finding mafia trouble.

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. He felt exhausted, long nights and making sure his daughter did not end up staying up too late. Or other sort of things however he still did not bring up his work. His little angel did not know what he was involved in, no one really did. Closer family/friends and the people he worked with knew he was in the mafia business, hunting them all down. Yea he didn't entirely know just how much of a hole he was digging himself, but whatever. Let things happen as they did. He'd figure it out in stride. So far Makoto was aware something wasn't right. Now he didn't know Ryuu or his mother had any involvement in preventing anything. But of course if he had then he'd be grateful for it. They helped him quite a bit with watching his daughter, and teaching her a few self defense things. However with that being said tonight he was out here looking for some clues, a few things to find more evidence. Not that people needed to know that. Makoto would play this off as a shopping trip, he did need to get a few ingredients for dinner anyway soon. After all he promised his daughter he'd make her something for lunch tomorrow and also for dinner. Since he rarely got to cook for her he would not disappoint. He hated to disappoint his cute little princess. Her sad face always made him feel horrible, though her pretending to be happy when she wasn't made him feel worse. It didn't mean he could quit this job though as much as he wished he could just spend his time with her. It was not in the cards right now anyway. Of course what else was he going to do? He couldn't just drop being a cop. For Makoto that would never fit and he'd regret that decision for the rest of his life. Was this really a good idea though? To be out here right now. Makoto felt like he was being watched already. He got used to that feeling but it did not mean he enjoyed any of it. Why did he have to be involved in this others might ask. But he had his own reasons. The male wanted to make the best of the things he had going on around him. As a father he clearly needed to anyway right? It was not like Makoto knew what he'd find if he just turned around. Or perhaps looked around a bit more. He did still keep his mouth shut at least right now. It'd have to be okay if he did that. If he had known he'd be counting how many had tried to hunt him down now. Well tried and obviously failed since he was still alive. His little girl was still with Rika right now. Was she fine? Was she mad at him again? Or was she just waiting for him to pick her up. Either way he was dwelling on that when he shouldn't be. Oh well just a little bit longer and he'd be able to go home. Sighing lightly he just looked around. That feeling of something being wrong again. He heard Ryuu, or at least he thought he heard Ryuu's voice. Just how weird was this anyway. Then again everything had been odd lately so whatever. "And you could stop stalking me. Jeez, when my inner voice sounds like Ryuu for a moment. Haha right. Just too tired that I'm hearing things." Makoto shrugged and continued walking though he already felt like this was bad. RYUU YAMAMOTO, and weird assassins people |

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu was definitely getting to the end of his patience level with people. He wasn't sure who was sending the assassins because no assassin worth his salt would give up their employers. It would ruin any reputation that the assassin had. It was highly unlikely that Ryuu would even find out unless one of them stupidly let something slip about the employer. Ryuu sighed as he rifled through the belongings of the assassin he had just assassinated. A C ranked Storm Ring, an empty box weapon and a storm box animal. He couldn't be sure what sort of animal was in the box because he wasn't able to open it. He pocketed the boxes after returning the rifle to the box and filtered through his wallet, hoping to find something of use. Nope. The boxes weapon and animals would sell well, and so would the ring. He wasn't a storm flame, so he had no need for them. Silvia had her things already...so it wasn't a big deal to get rid of them.
He groaned, annoyed with everything as he sat down roughly on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the edge as he watched his charge do...whatever it is he'd done the last few nights on a regular basis. There wasn't really much work for him to do the last couple of days, so Ryuu hadn't seen any classified police work. He kind of wished he had, just because he was curious as to what the other got up to on a regular basis that caused assassins to be sent after his stupid self. Ryuu wondered how much trouble would eventually come his way should Makoto find out about his own mafia ties and the Vongola. Ryuu was an assassin...basically a mass murderer. He doubted he had a profile among the police though. Ryuu boasted of some of the cleanest kills that the mafia had to offer. Training from Shamal with that man's vast knowledge of the medical field had made sure of that. Most of his kills were close-range with a swift jab to the throat that caused cardiac arrest from plummeting blood pressure from hitting the carotid. Granted, they'd probably be a post Mortem bruise for the ones who were found by police, which were so few that they couldn't make the connection. Or they might...who knows...but they couldn't pin a thing on Ryuu.
Ryuu could see Makoto's mouth moving from his vantage point as the other muttered something, but Ryuu didn't know what he was saying...although the sudden sneeze that Ryuu let out seemed to say something. He snorted in annoyance at the loud sneeze that had just snuck up on him. He wasn't really sure if Makoto had heard it, but there was nobody around to hear it anyway. He glanced back at the bloody corpse behind him, the scent of fresh blood heavy in the air from his recent death. He rose to his feet as several figures climbed onto the rooftops and saluted him. "You got it from here, boys?" he questioned as the Vongola members went about their work as the clean-up team.
Ryuu sighed as he felt sticky blood finally seeping through his clothes as he peeled off the top layer of clothing, wearing regular civilian clothes underneath. The blood hadn't reached them yet because of the insulation of them. He shoved the blood-soaked clothes into a bag and tossed them to a waiting Vongola member. "I want those back, yo. Leave 'em with Arashi or something...or drop them off with my mom." He left the group to their work and slowly made his way to the ground. He'd walk with Makoto for the rest of the way, hoping that his own killing intent as well as the fact he had just freshly slew an allied assassin would keep the rest at bay for now.
His box animal lighted down on top of his head for a second to make sure her master was alright before returning to the air, her wings flapping silently in the night as she kept an eye out for him. She couldn't really understand he want to protect the police officer who could potentially ruin him, but she was a loyal box animal and wouldn't question him.
Ryuu slipped out of the alley, weapons stored with in his box as he creeped after Makoto. He paused for a second, debating on how he should announce his presence. He smiled and lightly stalked after him, specifically working to to not be detected. As Ryuu moved close, close enough to startle the man with his voice...but far enough to not get punched in the face for doing so, Ryuu's voice chimed out. "Maaakoootoooo." He was suddenly draped over his shoulders, albeit awkwardly because Ryuu was now taller than the other. "What are you up thts evening?" There was that lingering scent of fresh blood, but the fact that his assassination clothes and his mask were no longer on his person made it's detection less probable. "I'll head over with you to moms since I have no plans~" he stated cheerfully. "I've been at work all day...so I could use a break that involves cute children." Work being assassinating over being in a hospital. Both involved death though, right?

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Why the heck did he fell so weird? Cops always managed to get a lot of enemies, however he would rather not talk about it. Sighing lightly he just crossed his arms. Time to go home work was pretty much over. And yet he'd rather not talk about it any further. Today had been a bit boring. Perhaps he'd have to figure this out later. Since apparently someone else was trying to get involved. "Really Ryuu? What are you even doing here? Rika send you out to get groceries or something?" He almost wondered what to say about that. He had to figure that Ryuu was either stalking him or just happened to be in the same area. Who knew this guy was suspicious sometimes. However he did not talk about it since it was probably not going to help. He wanted to get home to his daughter and not have to deal with work either. So maybe this one time he'd let this pass even if Ryuu suddenly being here was weird. Wouldn't he be at the hospital right now? Maybe? At that same moment it probably wouldn't make any difference if he asked. Ryuu probably would give him some excuse. Something along that lines however he just would not talk about it. "Was working as usual, and doing some other things. My daughter wanted us to cook something tomorrow since I don't work. Might as well pick up the ingredients now. But really you are off work rather early? That's a tad bit strange. Did someone else cover for you instead?" He tilted his hand and glanced back at Ryuu, he was wondering what he'd do. Though of course it'd probably not end up mattering in the long run. They could just walk back together so he could pick up his little girl. Ryuu could go back to doing whatever he was up to though he was still suspicious about it. Work was that bad for Ryuu though? Then again he got to see people die. He had to see them die every single day which was probably a really bad thing. Not that he knew much, oh wait yes he did. He was a cop. He saw people die all the time too. Less then Ryuu but he was the one who had to end the cases and get them to the hospital. See what remained in the crime scene after all. But he shook it off. Now he needed to get home with Ryuu and get his little girl. RYUU YAMAMOTO, and weird assassins people |

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Makoto was questioning his presence in the city that he'd lived in his entire life? Ryuu liked to night wander, okay? Ryuu snorted, waving his hand dismissively. "What? I can't take a walk in the middle of the night? It's a nice night," Ryuu turned his gaze towards Makoto, curious for a moment before a smirk lit up his pretty boy features. "Are you policing me? Interrogating as to what I'm doing out late at night? I'm an adult who can handle whatever comes my way~! You should worry about yourself for whatever trouble you might find in your line of work," Ryuu felt the need to drop that warning at the end, hoping Makoto would take it to heart. Granted, it was slightly hypocritical considering Ryuu's even more dangerous line of work...but whatever.
Let him think that the other was following him, but Ryuu didn't want his daughter to grow up without a father like he had. The girl's mother already obviously wasn't in her life. Neither he nor his own mother wanted to bring up that topic, although Rika really wanted to...but even she knew better than to bring up something that could be painful. He did know that if anything happened to Makoto, Rika would openly take the child in...but would either of them want to involve the girl in the mafia if that's what eventually took Makoto away from her? Both Ryuu and Rika had dropped out of the mafia world's radar after his father had died...but as always, it was their world and they would eventually return to it. They'd always tried to live a semi-normal life, though. Going to a regular high school and not the prestigious school that the children of mafioso went to, staying in the house that both Rika and his grandfather had grown up in...They were pretty normal, in retrospect...but they were trained assassins; killers for hire.
Makoto really was trying to grill him for information. It was kind of funny, to be honest. His inner police instinct knew something was up...but Ryuu wouldn't tell him. He was everything that Makoto hated. If worse came to worse...he and his mother had come up with a contingency plan on if the police became involved in their affairs. "Since I'm still technically a medical student...they sometimes let me go early if I have school stuff to deal with." Not that he did. Ryuu was in his final semester of medical school - being one of the youngest graduates of medical school in a long time - and the only class he was taking was a core class for his degree involving sociology. It was a lecture class that he didn't even go to because he could fail the course and still be at the top of the class. He wasn't failing it though. He wasn't about to tell Silvia he wasn't going to class, though... "And there's a kendo tournament coming up for the university club - I'm not participating, but I'm still the captain so I have to be at all our extra training times...at least until I feel like dumping all that on my co-captain, who is replacing me next semester since I graduate at the end of this one." He was holding up one finger, then two. "I also have a sociology exam coming up - which isn't a big deal, but I need to study for it either way." Not really. He'd gone through their material already...but that was irrelevant. He could list off excuses for why he was there, none of which were really excuses for him. For anybody else, maybe. A third finger. "We also didn't have any big trauma cases tonight...and when we don't, they usually just let me go away, but might keep me on call. I'm going into trauma, so I like showing up even when I'm not needed to observe and offer my two cents."
It was almost scary, the way Ryuu had just dissected Makoto's questions...but as a mafioso and as an assassin, he'd been trained how to handle interrogation by police. He had to. He also had to know how to handle interrogation by rival mafia families and knew that some of them would resort to torture. Ryuu had long since come to terms that some families resorted to those tactics and having been the victim of kidnapping as a child, knew some of the other underhanded tactics that other families used. Ryuu had chosen to go into trauma, so it was likely that if Makoto was injured during his line of work, or if anybody he worked with were injured...Ryuu would probably be one of the doctors working on them or even the ones who had harmed them.
Ryuu fell into step besides Makoto, remaining on the side closest to dark alleys. On the other side, he would occasionally see his box animal fly over head, diving into the alleys to scout for assassins on that side. It was more than likely that the small amount of Ryuu's killing intent was keeping them away, or his presence in general was...but it seemed to be quiet now. His movements were loose and graceful, but he was also planning them to be ready at a moment's notice.

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Really why the hell was he doing this? Makoto had to wonder why Ryuu was stalking him. Or well was he even actually doing that? Perhaps Makoto was just being a bit too focused on thoughts anyway. He'd rather focus on something else instead right now. Like getting back home to his little girl. After all Ryuu had to get home to his wife to be and perhaps make some babies. Or something along those lines who knew what Rika had planned for them. If she was up to anything. Makoto wondered if she'd be overly pleased when those two did make her grand kids. "Uh huh sure Ryuu. Just taking a walk, that is totally what you are doing." Of course at that same moment maybe he didn't care. That little pretty boy was here and they'd just go to his house together. Ryuu wouldn't learn anything Makoto was doing, he was sure of that. Not even many people at the station knew. Of course Luca did but they worked together so that was another matter entirely wasn't it? Was he doing that to Ryuu? Of course he was. After all he watched Ryuu grow up after that thing happened, so he was a bit protective perhaps. Not father protective but just protective in general at this point. Either way it'd have to be okay. He just wanted to walk home right now. Something didn't quite feel right and not just about Ryuu. The trouble he found in his line of work was well he'd rather not talk about that. More scars on the emotional side and ones he wished he could truly avoid anyway. Let Ryuu say whatever he wanted. Makoto did not truly end up buying this either no matter how Ryuu tried to explain that. "I see, well I suppose that explains it. Whatever then." No he still didn't entirely believe but he didn't want to stand here for the longest time and just interrogate him when it was obvious Ryuu wouldn't spill anything. It was like trying to pull someones teeth and he had other ideas of things he wanted to do right now. That was not one of them anyway. Ryuu and Makoto had other plans after all most likely, it wasn't like they hadn't made plans for the night before work even ended. It wasn't like he had forgotten Ryuu had not graduated quite yet but Makoto had something on his mind. Something else entirely anyway however he still did not want to talk about it. "Oh I see, well then that's a lot of work but I suppose you can do it. No big trauma cases that's a first. A lucky one too it seems." He wondered what he was going to do now. Makoto felt like Ryuu had in some sense avoided all of his questions. What the pair wouldn't know was that as they walked down the street, a car had begun tailing them at a distance. It was not abnormal for cars to be here or anything but this one was being a bit careful. Pulling out the gun he held it out in one hand with the other on the wheel. Driving past them quickly he aimed two shots at Makoto and Ryuu. He was the one who would try to kill them both. However he would drive away before they could get a good glimpse at him. It didn't mean it was over, no of course not. An assassin always had a back up plan. "Go and make sure the job is done." Was all the male said into the phone as he waited to hear back, tucking the gun back under his seat. RYUU YAMAMOTO, and weird assassins people |

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu was trained fairly well by the best of the best in order to survive the cruel world that was the mafia. He relied on his instincts, and the skills that he had honed over the years in order to survive. Not only that, he relied on his resolve to protect those that he cared about in his family in order to keep working towards his goals. He wanted to be the rain guardian of the Vongola to wash away any sort of conflict that may arise. His mother had done it before him as had his grandfather. He wanted to make his family proud, but he also wanted to protect his Family, mafia or otherwise to the very best of his ability.
Ryuu's instincts and his own ability to detect killing intent were probably what had saved them both from being outright killed, or their injuries from being worse. A shiver went up Ryuu's spine as a car drifted passed, the drivers' window rolling down casually before two shots rang out. Ryuu moved, just in time to push Makoto out of the way of a bullet from hitting him in the throat. Ryuu, on the other hand hadn't been as lucky. There was a strangled noise of agony as he felt the bullet hit his lower leg through his right calf. He stumbled forward, most of his weight already having been on that leg. He went down, hitting the ground. His head turned to watched the back of the car drive away as he tried to catch the license plate, but it was hidden from his eyes. He didn't have time to check his own injuries as a figure jumped from building above them. Ryuu suddenly rolled onto his back, thrusting both hands forward, rain flames bursting to life on his finger tips as lightning flames crashed into them from a man with a guan dao. He didn't have time to check on Makoto as the man snarled, bringing his guan dao against Ryuu's shield, lightning flames crackling as they broke through the shield. Ryuu rolled rapidly to the side as the weapon crashed into the concrete next where his neck would have been and forced himself rapidly to his feet. Pain flared to life in his eyes as he stood, but he had to ignore it as the guan dao swung at him a second time. He shifted to his left, trying not put weight on his injured leg, but the assassin was fast and quickly shifted his attacked, aiming for Ryuu's injured leg this time.
At this point, there was a screech from above as Amaya, Ryuu's box animal came plummeting down from the sky into the assassins face, beating her wings against his face in order to distract from his attack. She continued to do this as Ryuu moved, limping out of his current sight and going to check on Makoto, at least pleased to see that his own gunshot wound hadn't caused near as much damage to him...but it didn't look like it'd gone through and through, either...he'd have to remove it after all this was over. As he did this, he held one hand pressed against his calf, awkwardly hobbling across the ground as he pumped rain flames into the wound to stop the bleeding and to stop the pain. Each time he put his leg down though, more blood would ooze out of the wound and pain would flare up. His fibula was broken and he could definitely tell just from some of the symptoms. The rain flames helped, though. He didn't have time to worry about that as the assassin finally got Amaya away from his face, flinging the griffon into a nearby wall. The gryphon faded away into rain flames, the essence of the box animal returning to the box dangling from Ryuu's belt loops.
By this time though, Ryuu had shifted in front of Makoto, rain flames bursting to life on the Vongola ring on his left hand as he plunged the ring into his box. The box opened and Ryuu fetched his katana from the storage container. He was trying not to put weight on his injured side, but it seemed that he assassin had other ideas as he lunged forward, swinging recklessly at Ryuu, who despite whatever level of grace he had ever shown before now was probably the clumsiest anybody had ever seen him, was obviously having problems dodging and parrying the blows with his katana. He was on the defensive and it was hard to tell if that was a good thing, or not.
"That looks like it hurts, Rain of the Vongola," the assassin observed lightly with an amused glint in his eye as he continued to swing at Ryuu, not letting the other gain the upper hand and obviously just trying to cause him to put more weight onto his right leg. At times, rain flames and lightning flames would flash, clashing against each other.
"No really? I think it looks great!" Ryuu stated, partially snarling at the man as the assassin turned the guan dao, suddenly, using the flat end of the weapon, lightning flames coating it to smash Ryuu in his left side and into a park car. He felt something crack in his side, obviously a rib.
"Sassy, aren't we?" The man quipped, as he went after Ryuu again. "You'll regret that sassy mouth!"
Ryuu was already on his feet, but he was moving now, adrenaline masking the pain of injury. His breaths were calmer now, matching that of his opponent as he used the man's breathing patterns as well as his eye movements to predict his attacks. Fourth Form; May Wind, October Rain. He wasn't really sure how long he could really keep it up though. He could tell he was losing blood, and one of his leg bones was either fractured or broken...he didn't want to stay on it long. Makoto was injured too...but he couldn't let the assassin kill either of them.

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Makoto was just a cop who had gotten in way over his head. But what the hell did he know about the mafia and all of that. However he'd just rather not talk about it. This was all about getting home in one piece. A simple thought really now wasn't it? All they were going to do was go home now right? But Makoto still couldn't shake off that bad feeling that he had. As weird as it was he'd rather just pretend it did not exist for the moment. For some reason having Ryuu around didn't make this so bad however he would rather not talk about it. Makoto kept on walking trying his best not to panic over how awkward he felt right now anyway. He was not even aware of this whole guy trying to shoot them thing till he felt Ryuu push him down and the burning pain of the bullet lodging in his shoulder. 'Fuck I've had worse but hell.' He needed to focus on Ryuu, was he alright? If anything happened to Ryuu. Well Rika would probably not forgive him. "Shit Ryuu. The one time I think nothing is going to happen." Makoto didn't even bother to use his hurt arm. No he tried to focus on something, something else. Like just who the hell this guy was. What else could he do. Sighing lightly he just tried to get up again, using his other arm to push off of the ground. Makoto was fine. He'd had worse in his day and age hadn't he. "Don't worry about me, but just stay down okay. Let me dea-okay of course you won't fucking listen. Stubborn just like your mother." Makoto needed to deal with this. Keep him safe if he could but Makoto was already caught off guard by the flame. Just what the hell? What would he do? No he didn't need to think about this. He just needed to beat this guy down before he hurt Ryuu a lot more. "Oi dumbass, why don't you pay attention to me too." He balled up his fist and slammed it into the guy's face ignoring the pain that flared from moving too quickly. He was less hurt then Ryuu so he had to just deal with this as he did right now. No matter what else happened. Raising up his leg he kicked the guy in the stomach trying to knock him back into the ground. "I can't let you hurt him anymore. So you wanna fight you got one." Makoto knew he shouldn't be doing this but it had already started. Makoto was not in the mood for this, he noticed that Ryuu had the blue flames too. But no he wasn't able to comment on that right now. Makoto grumbled and raised his fists again, ignoring the pain in his arm. So what if he'd been shot. None of that mattered now. Makoto had no shame to start a fight now. He'd just keep on doing this whole fight thing. For Ryuu if anything but the guy who had shot him. Where had he gone? We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu was getting fed up with everything. He wanted answers as to who was sending these assassins after Makoto, and apparently him...Ryuu had noticed that the assassin wanted to hurt him, but wasn't actively trying to kill him. He was aiming for blows that would knock him out. The fact that the other clearly wanted him alive, for some reason, was worrisome. Ryuu wasn't about to be captured, though! He hadn't been kidnapped since he was a child and he wasn't going to end that streak now. He liked being free, after all. It almost seemed like Makoto was being targeted by assassins just to keep him out of the way. Considering his line of work involved the mafia, it honestly wasn't surprising that he was 'in the way,' but Ryuu hated the idea that this was probably all his fault. Makoto would never know what actually hit him, in the end. He was in a lose-lose situation. Knowing could get him killed, but not knowing could as well. Ryuu gave Makoto a look, debating on how much he should tell him. The other was clearly surprised by his earlier use of flames to make a flame shield barrier. This was getting way out of hand.
He had to end this and end this fast. He wasn't really sure how much more damage his leg could take after using it already...but he wasn't a happy camper about it. An injury like this could be crippling, especially when he had somebody trying to kill him outside of this and they already were getting into fights on a regular basis. There was no chance of winning when he was going to be out for a good month or two. He hated this. He was just so angry at whoever was sending these assassins. He was going to find out...and when he was healed, going to put him on his hit list. Or, he was going to act early and make Arashi do it. This was no time to be plotting the death of somebody in a most painful, unassassin-like manner though. There was an assassin in front of him he was fighting and it wasn't his best fight in the world, for ample reasons.
Ryuu was so focused on his opponent that he didn't see Makoto finally get his bearings and come barreling in, punching the assassin the face and announcing to pick a fight with him instead. Ryuu raised an eyebrow, amused because the truth was that Ryuu was the bigger threat of the two...and leaving him to his own devices was not a good thing. But whatever floated his boat. Ryuu took the moment Makoto gave to lean back against a pole heavily, roll up his pant leg to check the wind and grimaced. His calf was already slightly swollen, blood covering it. The rain flames had slowed down the blood flow enough that he wasn't bleeding out all over the place, but it was still just an all-around mess. Bullet was still in his leg, no exit wound in sight...and when he felt the bone, he didn't feel a break...so it was just fractured. He sighed in relief because the fracture would cut down on his healing time considerably. Unconsciously, his rain flames must have activated to at least slow the bullet down enough to keep it from breaking one of the bones in his leg...he kind of wished it had gone through and through, though.
The assassin snorted in surprise, stumbling backwards a little bit as Makoto interrupted his fight with a swift punch to the face and a kick to his stomach. "Oi oi...you're not the threat here...." he muttered crossly. "I was going to deal with you after I dealt with him..." He wiped blood from his mouth, smiling. "But if you want to die...I guess I can oblige...you...he's not going anywhere for the moment." He rolled his shoulders in a shrug as he went after Makoto, swinging his guan dao expertly. "You seemed kinda of surprised that he can use rain flames...some friends you are...you don't know anything..." He swung his guan dao at the other, suddenly flipping it as he jabbed the other in the abdomen, hard. "Wait your turn, man." he grunted as he used pushed against Makoto's abdomen, using that to lift him off his feet and fling him over his shoulder. "Stay down for now, small fry!"
Ryuu was up on his feet again now...well, as up as he could possibly get with a fractured fibula. He growled, annoyed that the other was so mouthy about things. Oh well...Makoto was bound to find out about everything after this. Maybe he could at least find out who'd sent him. Ryuu picked up his katana from the ground, still hiding his bloodlust and murderous intent let the other underestimate him and continue being cocky. Ryuu strode forward, favoring his leg, but he'd ripped his pant leg off and had used it to make a tourniquet. "You done beating on him already?" Ryuu sniped angrily, taking a quick look over towards Makoto. He seemed okay...probably dazed and slightly more hurt from his flight. Ryuu moved, his movements less sloppy than they were before now that a thin layer of blue flames coated his injury - numbing the pain there. He charged forward, his katana held low to the ground. As his moved closer, he scraped it along the concrete, rain flames bursting to life.
"Haha. Charging head first? You lose!" the assassin crowed as he swung the weapon downward...only for flat of his weapon to pass right through a reflection in the watery rain flames. He looked confused, then confusion turning into anger as he looked down to find a katana shoved through his back. Blood gurgled out of his mouth as Ryuu pulled the weapon out, the steel of his katana covered in blood. Blood splattered across his face.
"No...no I believe you're the one who lost when he get overconfident and cocky..." Ryuu turned to face Makoto, almost casually wiping his katana off on the assassin's clothing. The weapons returned to their box in a spurt of rain flames and Ryuu hobbled over there, the adrenaline gone...the rain flames wore off...he was very much hurt. "Well this sucks...I've never been shot before...Silvia will have a field day..." he groaned, thinking about it for another second. "And Ringo..." He sat down for a second, his injured leg awkwardly splayed out next to him as he went about inspecting Makoto's injury first. The other knew about his rain flames already...no use hiding them right. The soft blue flames of rain coated his fingertips as he pressed them against Makoto's injuries, the tranquility flames numbing the pain as well as slowing the bleeding. "We shouldn't stay here - because it seems like they decided to do something intelligent and team up...and I don't want to chance there being a third one..."
He thought about it for a moment, not sure what to do. "Until we can confirm that we're not in anymore immediate danger...I want to avoid my mom's place and the hospital." He thought, trying to think of places he could go. The Varia HQ was out of the question, unless Makoto submitted to being blindfolded. CEDEF, maybe? Nobody should be there besides some of the night-people. There was Ryker's place nearby, and there were Arashi safehouses. He didn't want to have to rely on just themselves. CEDEF was definitely closer because he wasn't sure if he could make it to Ryker's as he was...but he didn't want to take Makoto there, for ample reason.
"Alright...several options...they're all pretty stupid, but whatever. I don't have a boss right now so there's really nobody to call me an idiot for this..." He awkwardly got to his feet, using Makoto's uninjured side to get himself up. "Off we go....you can't tell otherwise I'll have to kill you." he said this latter bit as jokingly as he could. "But I think somebody else already has that dealt with." He pressed his earlier communication device in his ear again, flipping it on. "Mom? Problem came up...a big one. Won't be home tonight...keep an eye out. You know the drill..." He glanced over at Makoto and sighed. "I'll explain when we get there...but you really can't tell. I'm trusting you, okay?"

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Makoto wasn't sure what else to do about this. He was just not having any of it and yet he'd also rather not talk about it. Sighing lightly he just wished this was all over or some weird ass dream. After all he had a few dreams that were rather weird. Makoto felt a little bit better now that he punched him anyway and kicked him. Maybe this was a bad idea when he barely knew this guy or what was going on here. But Makoto had given Ryuu time at least. However he'd still rather not talk about it either. He needed to move fast and get them both out of here. He wasn't a cop for nothing. Cops were supposed to help people though he had a strong feeling after this they wouldn't hear the end of it anyway. Rika wasn't here to see it at least. "Oh please, I may not be the main threat but you don't fuck with my friends. So come on fucker. Why don't we play?" Makoto hoped that Ryuu would at least recover long enough to do something. Those flames were something he knew about, because he had them. But he apparently missed the memo that Ryuu had them too and knew how to use them. So of course Rika and Ryuu had something to explain. But later. It could end up waiting since they had other things to do right now. Get rid of this assassin then get the fuck out of here before something worse happened. Makoto did not need to speak about this too much either, it'd probably only create further problems. The suddenly being flipped over did catch him off guard, but what he had done worked rather well. Makoto had bought Ryuu time to do something. Hopefully get back on his feet and leave. But of course this was Ryuu he was talking about. Fleeing was not in his way of working ever. Never had been just like his mother after all, and though Makoto wouldn't have it any other way now was not the time. Makoto felt pain in his shoulder, and he was a little winded. Confused was on that list but he'd let it go anyway. Perhaps he'd rather not talk about it. Since of course his own problems were rather weird to begin with. Either way Ryuu had a sword in his hand, a sword...was he carrying that before. Okay really Ryuu was just a bundle of weird but it wasn't the first time weird shit had happened with this family. Ryuu had killed him, that was all Makoto noticed was this guy had just been murdered. But since he tried to kill them. Makoto would just pretend this hadn't happened for right now. He was learning quite a few things about people he knew though. Makoto sat up and groaned, he felt sick from the confusion, and the fact that he got shot. Now the adrenaline was starting to wear off quite a bit it seemed. "She's gonna kick us both...well maybe. Who knows, I'd rather not find out. She can be pretty creepy when angry." Though at the same time he didn't entirely know what to do. It might only end up causing him a few more problems then necessary now that they were already hurt. Oh and they should leave before more showed up. Was he going to end up carrying Ryuu home? He could manage it since the boy was probably really light. "Haha yea yea, I won't tell let's just get the fuck out of here man. Before something happens again."Makoto wanted to ask questions but he was so confused. What was he supposed to do? He had a feeling this was not going to help. "Alright fine I won't. Let's just go wherever you are planning to go." He was helping Ryuu along, after all he couldn't just let him wander by himself. That injury was severe in it's own way. RYUU YAMAMOTO, and weird assassins people |
