Ryuu had to work here, had to be near his mom. That was something that didn't comfort Gavril at all, so he placed his illusions on his body to change forms today. He was not going in the hospital as a form his father or Ryuu knew. It'd be a bad idea plus he was on the work schedule today. He had to come in as this form as much as he did not enjoy it. "Okay just remember check on mom, make sure she's asleep and doesn't look right at you. Simple as that." Gavril wanted to calm down then get back to his own life of checking on his darling mother. She had to be getting better right? The doctors in this place were good enough to take care of her, even though his father had to pay her hospital bill and constantly used that against him too.
What else could he do? He just slipped into his outfit, making sure there was no more blood or wrinkles. Though it didn't really matter. He would end up getting blood on it at some point. He was working in a hospital after all. He walked down the hall with his clipboard in hand, he had tucked his weapon away at home. But he had mist flames so it wouldn't be hard to make others. For now he just went to check on his mother. She looked at least a bit more peaceful then she had before. "Mom." He sighed and just went in there to adjust her blankets and peek at her chart. After all he was allowed to. But he didn't know if he should like he was seeing. Well okay he knew it was progress but he wanted more. He wanted her to feel a lot better then she was right now.
If only he wasn't afraid of coming in here as his normal form instead of using Illusions. Doing this for so long had started to wear on him a little bit but he didn't talk about it. What had changed? Why was she improving? Oh right he needed to be happy she was getting better, not focus on the negatives. Simple thoughts really in his mind yet he still felt like it might cause him unwanted stress too. "Well it doesn't seem to be anything bad...But, father won't be pleased if he knows. Maybe." He was uncertain about this. It really scared him a lot more then he'd like to talk about.
She did seem okay, but he was not sure if he could stand here any longer. He acted as if he was taking care of her even as she opened her eyes to look at the child. She knew her son. She knew who he was even with this over his face. It was not going to help either. But for now he'd just try to ignore it. Her whispering to him about how she was feeling better. "Mom, please don't...Mom. I know..just please don't. Go back to sleep." He was trying to calm down. As he didn't want to think about these things too much and let people realize who he was. Ryuu worked here after all.

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu was exhausted. He'd already been at the hospital all morning and had a distinct lack of sleep the night before. He hated this. His hospital hours were sporadic at besst, often scheduled for entire days because he was just a first-year intern and that first year was used as learning opportunities. He also still had a few terms left of university until he graduated. Mostly, he just needed to finish up some Univsersity requirements for his degree, more than actually needing more medical classes. Even if the classes he would be taking for the next few terms would be utterly useless in the long-run, he still had to do his best. He had a Valedictorian status to maintain after all.
He needed one of his mental health days, soon....very soon. Maybe on Silvia's day off. He'd take her out to dinner and do something nice for her...maybe. He also just sort of wanted to stay at home all day and sleep and take nice, hot bubble bath when he woke up. Currently, that option was impossible because of the idiot assassin who kept attacking him at all odd hours of the day and night. Well, okay...their fight in the middle of the night had been sort of his fault...but most of the other fights were all instigated by the other! Ryuu rarely ever was the first one to throw a punch at this point.
Ryuu, finally on a break for the next hour or so, sat in the hospital's break-room. He could finally go through the file he'd painstakingly put together with Arashi the day before. He'd brought it to work with him and had placed it in his work locker. The reason why he was so tired was because he'd been up late the night before, trying to finish putting it together...but he'd completely forgotten that he'd been supposed to be at work early that morning. So it wasn't until like 2AM that he'd gone to sleep, only to be up two hours later to get to work on time. So, needless to say, he was tired after only two hours of sleep - give or take - the day before.
Ryuu casually flipped through papers on the desk, looking for something or other. He thought he'd recognized the name Maklakov. There was a Maklakov in that very hospital! She wasn't one of his regular patients, but she was a long-term one and Ryuu had taken care of her once or twice during his time at the hospital. That was why the name had sounded familiar. Granted, the Maklakov name still made him think of something he'd heard before, but was unable to bring it to the front of his mind. He closed the folder, tucked it under one arm and headed towards the room where they kept most of the medical files. He slipped in, looking for M filing cabinet. His fingers filtered easily through the M names until he found what he was looking for.
He knew that this probably wasn't a good idea...but when had Ryuu been known for his brilliant ideas? He glanced through the woman's file as he walked, his attention on it as he managed to dodge people at the same time. This seemed weird...that if her son was mafia and her husband was mafia, or at least the father of her child, that that wouldn't have gone through a mafia hospital that had far more resources than that of a civilian one. He was just outright confused because some of the woman's medical problems could at least be alleviated by dying will flames. Maybe this wasn't the same Maklakov? No, the name matched the name of the mother that both he and Arashi had dug up during their research. Arashi really needed to organize his files better. Some of them were woefully out of order and Arashi had given him the complaint that he didn't feel like filing everything all the time. Maybe Ryuu would organize Arashi's filing cabinets for him as at least one of the many favors owed to the man, at this point.
Ryuu snorted at the thought as he closed the medical file. This had to be Gavril's mother...so she was ill and in the hospital? It was weird that Ryuu felt the need to talk to somebody's mother about a conflict he was having, but Gavril wasn't leaving him much choice at this point. He didn't deserve the lot of life handed to him and Ryuu wanted to fix that. Ryuu didn't fancy himself a superhero, ready to save the entire world...because if it was one thing he had learned from being in medicine as well as the mafia was that everybody can't be saved. And not everybody /should/ be saved. Gavril was one of the people he felt that he could save, even if he didn't want it. From what Ryuu had gleaned off of Gavril and from his own research on him, his father wasn't one of the ones who could be saved.
Ryuu sighed to himself, again wondering if this was a good idea. Going to Gavril's mother...what if she didn't know about his life? What if there wasn't anything she could do? The woman was ill, after al...he didn't want to overly stress her out. Though, from the looks of her medical history...she needed the hand of a mafioso to help her when one wasn't. The fact that there were ways for her to get aid with her condition, but her husband - who, after another quick scan over the files, was paying her hospital bills wasn't trying to do more further cemented the man's shortcomings as a father, as husband and a decent human being in general.
Ryuu's knuckles lightly rapped on the door frame, announcing his presence as he glanced in. There was somebody already with her. "Oh...I was wondering if I could talk to Mrs. Maklova about her medical history..." It wasn't the complete truth, but nor was it a lie. He did want to inform her of her options, coming from the perspective of a doctor and somebody who could utilize dying will flames. He also wanted to discuss her son and where he should go from there. Ryuu had hit a brick wall involving Gavril and he needed to tear that down.

He had to pretend he was not her son, he was not worried about her. That Gavril was not even worried about her to begin with. Though of course he knew it was not even the slightest bit likely. He was not always that good at keeping it under wraps but the other doctor coming in he relaxed and gathered his composure again. Let his mother go back to resting, maybe now she wouldn't bring up his name. The fact that he was hiding behind an illusion. Hopefully a rather good one that would be hard to poke holes in at least. Gavril knew he had to expose himself eventually but no right now he wouldn't. Things still needed to be done, he needed to figure out why this guy was here. Minus doing his job. What was he supposed to do? Gavril always felt like this was a bad idea letting other people close to his mother. Just look at how it'd gone with his father.
She'd probably be okay if he wasn't such a stiff tight wad who was selfish in every possible way. He just stepped back after checking her medicine. "Oh I see, well you could talk to her. She's up for having a conversation it seems." Though of course he still felt like she was looking right through him.Too stressful of a thing. why couldn't she just stop looking at him that way. She needed to get away and stop looking at him. It felt stressful and terrifying. 'P-please stop. Mom just stop it, don't look at me like that. I can't do what you want. I'm not the child that you want.' Gavril didn't want to be discovered, so maybe he could hope she'd just not bring it up. Parents were good at reading children after all.
To say he hadn't been sleeping well was not a lie. He just hadn't been able to for some reason. As he looked at the doctor he just smiled. Gavril had to keep up an appearance in this form, it wouldn't help him in any other way if he didn't. He would get caught and then a fight would have to break out here. And he didn't want his mom to know about any of that, it's why he was acting this way. "Just don't push her for too long, she should be sleeping." Though of course he wasn't sure what else to say, he had to act like he wasn't her son. That he was just a worker here trying to take care of his patients and anyone that needed help. He was a hospital worker just like Ryuu, but this one he was connected too on a level he couldn't say.
He still felt so worried about her, about what she was doing. What she might say? He just hoped Ryuu would not end up catching onto these things. He just stepped back to let the doctor get closer to talk to her.

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu was actually killing several birds with just one stone. He was doing his job, finding out more about Maklakov, and also being just an all-around good person in general. He didn't have to offer his help to the mother of the guy trying to murder him. He couldn't help but feel a slight kinship to the other, though. Both their mothers were probably the most important thing in their lives and both didn't have the greatest fathers - Ryuu's only because he was dead, but he'd been a pretty good father while he was alive for the most part and it had been his mother who hadn't been the best parent alive, but she was his mother and she tried her best. She'd gotten better over the years about things, so he didn't worry about her as much as he used to.
Ryuu give the other a rather interested look for a second. He seemed almost worried about the woman, more so than a usual doctor or intern would be. Although, sometimes they did get attached to their patients, though...and Ryuu couldn't fault him for that. She was a long-term patient, so they'd have time to get to know each other better. Ryuu checked several things, routine things. Blood pressure...ect. As he went about the usual routine, he sparked up a conversation. An important one. "I met your son, Mrs. Maklakov," Ryuu stated conversationally. "Except for some odd vendetta against me, he seems interesting...he's not bad with a sword, either." An odd vendetta seemed to be the best way to put it over saying outright trying to murder him and getting him arrested...he wouldn't mention that though. He wasn't sure how much she knew about the mafia or her husband and son's goings, though...so he would have to word his conversation extremely well. He also wasn't sure about the other in the room and his own knowledge. Namimori was a hub for mafioso, so there were a lot of mafioso in the city...whether or not he knew who they were was another story all together.
He scribbled down some information on the board for her regular doctor before continued. "I'm curious though...your husband can afford long-term care...and I'm wondering why he hasn't at least tried to contact the Riva. Surely he's heard of them in his line of work?" Work being the mafia. It wasn't like the Riva were an unknown family. In fact, they were pretty well known at least to the various European mafias. They were a neutral party who specialized in medical care and didn't really discriminate against who was in their care, unless they were open enemies of the Spiaggia family, which wasn't near as large as it had been in the past and any Spiaggia enemies were after the Mare Rings, which in turn makes them Vongola enemies because nobody wants Tri-ni-sette pieces to fall into the wrong hands. "I know the heir to the Riva is in Namimori currently. He's stopped by the hospital a couple times..." The Riva were working on expanding from Italy and the rest of Europe, and their alliance with the Spiaggia gave them an easy way into Japan and several hospitals. The young heir to the Riva kept coming in to talk with their board of directors about buying them out. They wouldn't sell though...but it would probably only be a matter of time before the cute little midget got into their heart and souls and agreed. It was the best business move anybody could do, was sending somebody cute and adorable to try to buy somebody out.

Gavril wished this could have been the one day that Ryuu hadn't worked. It would be a lot easier then and he could talk to his mother without spies. Now he had to watch what he said. So he didn't give his true identity away honestly. He couldn't let Ryuu know that, though he already seemed to know that this woman was his mother. How had he found that out? It wasn't like Gavril had given anything away. Maybe that cop knew that, did his father know too that the cop had said things. Had brought things up he shouldn't have. Gavril couldn't say he was good at these things. He only knew how to communicate with his mom and now thanks to Ryuu being here he felt jumpy and nervous. As if stressful things were going to happen to him here. Like he might actually be exposed to this person when he wanted to keep Ryuu and his mom in the dark. Though she knew her baby boy so trying to pull a wall over her eyes was harder then it was with this Yamamoto brat.
Just how much did Ryuu know though? His mother and father were different people. His father lived all off the grid. There only a birth record for Gavril, and maybe a few other papers signed by his mother. But most of his existence had been destroyed so no one would know. Probably not a smart idea on his father's part but oh well it had already happened. No escape from it now, even if they had wanted to escape or be free it wouldn't happen now. The male wrote things down on the clipboard so they'd have notes for later. After all they would add these numbers to her record. Lab work and all was going to always be in there just so they'd know how her health functioned, or improved. Whether it got worse or better was all a matter of seeing what happened. As the two seemed to share a conversation he listened. The woman spoke up in her usual happy voice even for being in a hospital. "Oh my son you say? Is he at least having fun and not getting into trouble? I told his father to stop forcing that sword on him, but how did you meet my son?" She had to ask, the woman looked curious and peaceful as she rested there.
Really for Gavril this was so awkward being on this side of the conversation. He didn't know what to say about Ryuu anyway. He was still convinced he couldn't trust that guy.His father had told him so many things about Ryuu and that whole family. So he wasn't sure if he wanted to open up or let anyone close. Or speak up right now. He'd just stand there awkwardly. So Ryuu knew about the money his father had, or that his father had refused proper treatment. Just because he wanted to keep Gavril under his thumb. Something along those lines though Gavril kept his mouth shut right now. "Oh he's heard of them. But he just...doesn't care I guess. Or he's just struggling too much to be able to do such a thing. He is a busy man after all. Perhaps he only sees the negatives and refuses to believe the positives who knows." She laughed as she spoke and sat up a little more. She was in a good mood today. At least that was a good sign for Gavril to see.
It was hard sometimes to watch her be sick like that. So her feeling better and able to laugh like that. It was a pleasant thing. Even his father couldn't ruin this right now. Though he still felt uncomfortable being in this room with a guy he was supposed to kill and his mother."The heir to the Riva you say? He's a nice boy isn't he?" Again she probably knew them, she had likely seen them but Gavril said nothing. Let his mother handle this conversation, she was a grown woman after all anyway. Gavril did hope they could help her though, he was worried still even if he tried to mask it.

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu didn't fancy himself a liar, but then again...he did sort of do illegal things for a living and had lied to one of his friends about exactly what had happened earlier. He couldn't bring himself to tell the sick woman that they'd met because Gavril wanted to murder him and they'd both been arrested for said brawl. They'd gotten into several fights since then and they were both prone to destroying things and getting in trouble, but bolting before the police showed up at this point. Neither wanted to be arrested again, although they wouldn't mind the other being arrested.
He couldn't really come up with a reason for how he'd met Gavril without coming out that the other was trying to murder his face. He smiled pleasantly though. "I know the sword myself...we get into sparring matches with each other. My mother runs a dojo and he stops by once in awhile." Ryuu didn't particularly enjoy lying to the woman about what sorts of trouble her son was getting into. "My mom likes him." Actually, the two hadn't met at all...but Ryuu's mom didn't mind anybody and for some ungodly reason, every time the other was mentioned in the context of them fighting, she'd giggle like a maniac...but that was probably because she was into those love-hate relationships, even if he was already engaged to the girl she had wanted him with.
He did, however, file away the little tidbit about Gavril's father. He knew something was up with that man. He hadn't even met the man in person and already he absolutely hated the man. Besides the creepy vibe he gave, he also just seemed like a general dick. "Getting in the usual trouble...we spar a lot and tend to get a little bit destructive," Ryuu admitted easily as he laughed. "I never thought that I'd turn out the be the overly destructive one. Usually I'm somewhat a voice of reason...but your son does tend to bring out my love of fighting and my tendencies to overkill when I do. I was raised around the sword, myself...and having learned it as long as I have I have very few people who can give me a decent fight anymore. I must say, I've found our spars to be highly enjoyable in the long run."
Ryuu inwardly frowned as the woman mentioned that her husband didn't honestly care about the health of the mother of his child. Ryuu hated people like that. He'd lost his own father when he was young and his mother had been devastated and he wasn't sure she'd ever gotten over the loss of him. If there had been a way to save him, she would have done whatever it took. It was just the woman he was. Ryuu sighed slightly, realizing that it was no wonder that Gavril was such a dick sometimes and it was because he was mostly around his father. His mother seemed like an absolute sweetheart. "Mhn...if I talk to your regular doctor...I could see about replicating some of the Riva methods. I can easily get some of the medical research without it being redacted for certain eyes." Meaning, it was usually redacted for that of civilian eyes, but somebody who knew about the existence of dying will flames could see the full reports. He wasn't sure if the other one there knew about their existence or if he knew Russian. The woman was Russian...did she know Russian? Most likely, he just couldn't be sure if the other did. Ryuu tilted his head to the side for a moment, lowering his voice to a point where only she'd be able to hear and also shifting to Russian. Ryuu could have been considered for the Varia, he knew the recommended amount of languages required for the Varia, but he hadn't really wanted to work with Arashi. It wasn't that Arashi was a bad leader, but one could only take Arashi in small doses and he didn't really want to constantly have to deal with the other male.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you know of Dying Will Flames - between your son and your husband...it'd be surprising if you didn't...but the Riva use dying will flames in their medical treatments and it sounds like at least some of your symptoms could be relieved or at least slowed down with the use of flames. I, myself, am a rain flame user..." Ryuu stated as he glanced over her chart again, running solutions through his mind as to what flames could do what for her specific set of symptoms. "I mean...I can't guarantee anything...but it's worth a try, I think."

Honestly he was concerned about Ryuu being so close to his mom. After all who knew just how far Ryuu might go. Yet he was a doctor so maybe Gavril was being concerned for nothing. He couldn't blow his cover however so he had to stand there as the innocent helper, the bystander who did little. Who was just checking over her charts and making sure all her meds were in place and didn't need to be filled again. Or if there had been any changes on the orders of her other doctors. Gavril hoped Ryuu was smart. That woman did not need to get involved with anything that happened between the two of them. She was already in enough trouble. No point in adding onto the stresses she already had right? She needed to get her health back in order. And Gavril hoped that if Ryuu could do anything in his pathetic life it would be help her.
She'd probably be happy knowing her son was doing something fun. At least something he kinda enjoyed. Though it had only been brought up by his father forcing it on him the first time. Gavril would have spent more time in his books if he was allowed too. At least Ryuu had not told her they'd been arrested. He did not need her knowing that right now either. It'd only end up causing her stress that her condition likely couldn't handle. "Oh he does? Well it's good that he's getting out and doing his own thing. That home is not a place he should be stuck in." She loved her husband of course, Gavril knew that as he listened in. But she was choosing her son over that man maybe?
Gavril never heard her talk like she was now. It was usually always about her husband, and keeping him from smacking someone. Or worse. Death was not something she'd wish on anyone being that positive of a woman. Gavril knew that his mom was going to buy into this. He wished he could speak up but not with Ryuu here. Best to avoid blowing his cover at least. Gavril had never actually met his mom on that level though. It was not like they talked to begin with. He was the one who wanted to murder her son, why would she talk to him? Without kicking his as first.
"Oh my you boys, always so destructive. At least no one got hurt, that goes for you two as well. As long as you two have fun, he likely doesn't get too much of that lately. Would rather see him enjoying something. Just don't get hurt or be too rough with my baby boy." She coughed into hand and he had to try hard not to react and say anything. Gavril got too attached to people but she was his mother. This was a different attachment honestly. Really his mom was making him a it embarrassed too. Why did she have to talk about that? It just seemed so stupid to be completely honest.
Gavril pretended he didn't know anything about what they were saying. He just let them talk without him alerting them to anything. At least right now. Perhaps he'd figure it out later. Ryuu was suddenly speaking Russian. Just what was he supposed to say as he listened to them talk. It was all about helping his mom so maybe he'd be okay with this for now. Maybe just a little bit. She would speak back to him as Gavril seemed to go about his business, not paying attention or at least seeming like he wasn't. "So you can help me then? Let's do this...I mean for my child of course. If it helps then do what you must. No matter what that annoying man says. He thinks he is always right but he is not." Of course what else was he going to say. Gavril had nothing to say after his mother spoke her mind like that.
She had her reasons didn't she.
