I want to see the splendor of people's souls. He felt so tired, he'd been up for most of the night at this point. No matter how Makoto looked at it. After dropping his little girl off at Ryuu's mothers he would go off to work. Coffee in his hand and the files in his other hand. All he wanted to do was go back to bed but that was not even likely going to happen now either. Makoto had a lot of work to do. A lot of cases stacking up on his desk. Some solved and some that he needed to solve, he really needed to get an assistant for these things. Maybe the new guy would be useful in that situation as well. It sounded pleasant to Makoto as he got back into his car and drove to the police station. 'Why can't I just get a day off?' But of course that was not going to work either, Makoto already knew that. He knew today was going to be a hard day but he settled at his desk and started flipping through the file again. He'd been reading it since he got it but without his daughter seeing. He had the file on his new companion of sorts, and then the mafia files that had to do with him. It was the reason he handled most mafia cases so things like this wouldn't happen. Makoto did not like seeing people used or hurt like that. No matter who they were, unless they majorly screwed up and got themselves into something stupid. Or hurt a lot of innocent people. Makoto might have different opinions there. Even though as he got to the desk and settled to read it'd probably not matter. He was still a bit tired but coffee would help him here as well. He wondered if the new cop had arrived already. Luca had a hard time with his life it seemed. But he would avoid bringing that up. He did not sugar coat things with most people, only his daughter and people he deemed that might actually need it. So far he wasn't sure if Luca needed that as they had not met. He was tapping his hand on the desk as he read, this was all so horrifying but he'd also seen worse. Seeing bodies ripped apart so badly it looked like a wild animal did it. Humans were twisted honestly. But Makoto had to wonder how this guy would take seeing things like this after all he'd been through. It could be a scarring experience or one he was handling really well. Though of course at that same moment Makoto thought he heard steps. Someone else might be here now? Well it seemed the work day was just about to begin. More cases for him? Were they solved or unsolved, he wouldn't care either way. Whatever got him away from this desk and his exhaustion. The exhaustion was so hard to manage after all no matter how he looked at it. Now he just wanted to find out what was he going to do and get on with it. Luca di Leone |

look into my eyes look into my eyes He was so tired. Ready for another catnap. His flight had departed later than intended and he'd gone through files on his flight over and only caught snatches of sleep. He'd been slightly anxious the entire time, mostly because the idea of going to another country entirely to join a new unit with somebody he didn't know finding out about his past. He wanted this though. He needed to make sure nobody else what through what he had. He knew Japanese, but he'd never been to Japan before, but his jumpyness was also from sitting on an airplane for over twelve hours more than anything. He knew he had to go to work right after it. If it hadn't been for the flight departing late, he could have gotten more sleep before starting his shift. If the Japanese were anything like the Italians, which his limited knowledge on the matter pointed towards yes, then he'd be able to stay in the station until he found a place. It wasn't that big of a deal. He'd brought enough things for the next week and he had been doing a little bit of searching for a place already. After he found one, he'd have his other things sent over. He came with the things he needed the most, including his weapon; which he of course, had gotten permission to bring on the plane as well as a his longbow - that had to be unstrung and stored in cargo. He sighed, closing the file he'd gotten as he finished reading it as he got ready to head over to the station. He wanted to get this over with and just find a place to sleep for the day. Sleep was good. Sleep was fabulous. As he left the airport, with directions to the station, he slung his large bag over his shoulders. For the most part, he was going to stretch his legs by walking. Eventually, he'd also have his motorcycle shipped over. He rolled his shoulders in a shrug as he set off at a easy job with the directions he'd gotten. Having been in the marines, walking the short distance it was going to be wouldn't even be a huge deal. It didn't take long for him to arrive at the station and when he did, he offered his ID to one of the officers at the desk, who motioned towards a locker room for him to leave his stuff. They knew he was chilling there until he found a place to stay, so had no problems with it. After that, one of them showed him towards the office where his new coworker, or coworkers eventually, would have their desks as a part of their division. He knocked lightly on the door before opening it. The office was large enough to fit the seven members of the division who would eventually fill it with their files and their vendettas against the mafia. He moved over towards Makoto's desk, his movements graceful and catlike without an excess movement. His mismatched eyes, one not belonged to his and partially hidden under his hair - which had grown back out once he'd left the marines took in Makoto's own appearance. "Hanamura...ah..san? I'm Luca...it's nice to meet you," his Japanese was decent enough, but the Italian accent was heavy in his voice. Tags; Makoto Word Count; 558 Notes; Luca is sleepy from plane ride. I want to see the splendor of people's souls. He still had no idea just when Luca might get here, he knew he was coming today. But beyond that Makoto knew this was a waiting game. It had always become some form of a waiting game as much as he hated the idea anyway. What was he supposed to think? The way this child had come about and things that had happened to him. It was not easy. The police had saved them from that though right so Makoto shouldn't worry too much. But what side effects did it have? Makoto would observe instead of straight out ask at least he had manners in that sense of things anyway. He sipped the coffee and closed the file before setting it away in the drawer. He would make sure it was locked before they went off to do anything else. Luca would be here soon he hoped so he could start showing the newbie the ropes of this job. If he needed to. Makoto would only be able to wonder how Luca would take to living here. He hadn't met him yet so he couldn't tell how he was handling it. Maybe it'd be okay though, the boy was probably stronger then people gave him credit for with all that had happened with that family. Not bringing it up though he set his coffee down and glanced over at the door. What else was he supposed to say at this point? "Hello Luca, sit down and it's Makoto to you. Formalities are not needed here." As far as he was concerned, Makoto never saw the point for that. He did not desire to deal with those things, or think about them either. "It's nice to meet you though. The flight wasn't too bad I hope?" He had to wonder how it'd actually gone. Makoto had been on the plane awhile ago but he hadn't thought about it. He just wanted to get his baby girl off the plane so she could sleep peacefully. The way a dad worked when they only had one thing in mind. Nothing else could stop them when it had to do with the very flesh and blood they worked to create. But he shook that off, focusing back on the new worker. Luca did seem different, something about him was strange but Makoto had seen stranger people after all. Not that it mattered to him, none of those things did anyway. Makoto felt a bit tired but work needed to be done. "So do you feel up to working through really? I can just show you around the office instead if you'd like?" He was not going to complain after all there was nothing to complain about really. He felt better knowing he had a partner here with him after all of this anyway. It was a pleasant thought, and he didn't exactly like working alone all the time. Luca di Leone |

look into my eyes look into my eyes Makoto really had nothing to worry about, really. Luca had the occasional nightmare and he still bore the physical scars of his ordeal, but the mental wounds that had once been raw and red for years had scarred over a long time ago. His experiences were what molded him today. He wasn't sure if he'd change it if he had the chance because he was happy the way things were at the moment, but he never let his issues get in the way of his work. He'd join the marines to learn how to fight and learn how to be a better person. He never wanted somebody to go through what he did and he didn't want to be a coward who ran from his past, either.
So no need for formalities? Formalities were something that Luca was used to in his life. He'd been a marine and formalities had been everything. 'Yes, sir.' 'No, sir.' Even his childhood before his adoption had been full of those. Afterwards, his adoptive father had been a lax father, trying his best to make sure Luca was happy and well-adjusted to being a child. He'd of course, had his wild streak as a young teenager, it was almost a given that somebody in a tyrannical world would have gone off the deep end somewhat with newfound freedoms. His father had gotten him out of trouble several times...but had understood what caused it. Sure, he got grounded like any kid about it...but his father had always eventually relented. The lack of formality would be nice, for a change. "Of course," a smile crossed his features, it revealing elongated canines that were brought into a fine-point, like somebody had filed them to be that way. The fact was though, they seemed completely natural in his mouth and they didn't seem to bother him. Luca found a seat, picking one in an area of sunlight from the window. "My flight was slightly delayed...but otherwise it was okay." Besides the fact that Luca didn't like being confined anywhere, being confined on a plane had not be a pleasant thing. He'd chosen to go over files for an hour or two, and then slept the rest of the plane. Luca could sleep for an entire day, if so inclined to and allowed to. Makoto asked if he was up to working or he just wanted to be shown around the office. The temptation to sleep in a sunny spot was there, but probably not a wise decision his first day on the job. "Hnn. I'm okay to work," Luca stated casually, stretching his arms into the air. "Being confined on an airplane makes for good time to take a long nap..." Luca admitted easily. He paused for a moment, before adding. "At this point, if we go out and do field work, you can show me around the city at the same time?" Luca suggested, his head tilting to the side slightly. If that were the case, he could pinpoint the best locations to look for an apartment close to work. I want to see the splendor of people's souls. He only wondered how this might change his progress, and his work in this field. After all being a cop had a lot of bad things. Sometimes he wished he never saw them. It made him want to go home and hug his daughter tight, keep her as close to him as he could. Without hurting her of course, but Makoto did have quite the bear hug when he got home from a bad day at work. Or from a case he wished he did not have to work, so it was only natural he worried about Luca. Makoto was at least pleased to see Luca on his feet, and not too bad. The flight had been a tough one as he said. But of course Makoto had dealt with worse, soon Luca would too. For now he'd just keep a watchful eye on him even if he might not need too. Makoto pretended to barely notice the canines. He was not bothered by them even if he saw them with that smile. At least Luca seemed on a positive note, he'd question those little things later. Mafia brought about a lot of weird things so just one other thing onto that list wouldn't be that bad or anything. "Sadly that is how most flights go these days. Can never get somewhere on time, but whatever. If you think so, though sleep isn't bad to do instead." Though trying to sleep here by be a bit difficult. He'd have to get used to cops running around. Sleeping while other people were on duty. It reminded Makoto of his days when he first started serving here. And when he was always on coffee more often then not. Things had not really changed though. "That I can, we have a few stops to make. Some routine violence reports. And some other things I need to look into. But sure I'll show you around along the way." It couldn't be too bad, after all they were going to make the best of this the only way they knew how to right? Possibly this would all be okay. At least he couldn't end up getting into too much trouble with another person around. Or maybe if he did they'd keep it a secret, hopefully. Now what would they find at these locations? Makoto wanted to stay there but no he should take the new guy out. Get him a sense of direction and lay of the land since he'd be working here too. Luca di Leone |

look into my eyes look into my eyes Luca couldn't help but agree about flights. They did tend to never get anywhere on time anymore. It was funny really because everybody needed to be somewhere on time. He snorted lightly in agreement. "The irony being everybody has somewhere to be and yet, the airlines think it amusing to delay flights and everything. Somebody there is an evil genius who just wants to see the world burn," Luca commented dryly. It wasn't that he hated planes...he'd been on military planes before. Jumping out of them was fun...it was a part of military training. He just sort of liked being up in high places, for some reason. He'd been a climber of trees as a child after he'd been released from the Estraneo.
Makoto seemed worried that Luca would remain at the station until he found a place to live. It was a bit difficult to sleep with other people working around him, but Luca often slept like a the dead. Or a cat...there really wasn't much of a difference. Not much disturbed his sleep until it was super important. He smiled and shook his head. "I can handle a few more hours without sleep...no need to worry about that. I sleep like the dead when I need to." While he did sleep like the dead, his life in the military had made him routinely wake up at 6AM on the dot. It would take some getting used to the time difference between Italy and Japan, but he could manage it after a few weeks of trying to figure out when was good to sleep and when wasn't.
Makoto informed him that they would be doing a little investigating of violence reports on the way, but that didn't bother Luca too much at all. He was used to violence and after seeing what he had as a child, not much phased him at all. He, himself, had committed violent acts against some of the other children during fights. He'd killed before, but when he was a child he'd often had little control over his animal channels, especially his lion channel which boasted of increased strength. However, because of some of his additions being less advanced, or something, he'd paid little attention to the words of the scientists he'd often had to deal with the instincts of those animals. He had a lot more control over those instincts now, as well as an intricate knowledge of those animals in general that he he was less to stalk the neighbor's dog or something. All three big cats that had been ingrained into his DNA were all stalking hunters, with lion and cheetahs also being able to chase down their prey - cheetah's moreso. It was never a good idea to run from Luca, as many people he'd collared had found out. The leopard on the other hand
"Whenever you're ready to go then," Luca stated evenly as he rose to his feet again without a sound. He was eager to go. Who knows, maybe he'd get to chase somebody down and play cat and mouse...which was probably a bad idea. He'd should not do that because cat and mouse wasn't a fun game to play as a police officer. He couldn't just let somebody go, just to chase them down again. "Who knows...I might get some exercise if I have to chase somebody. That's always fun."

I want to see the splendor of people's souls. Makoto was used to flights sadly, and Luca would too. Right now of course they had work to do so he grabbed his keys. Time for them to go instead of standing here like this, since it'd probably not help to keep standing here this way obviously. "Sounds like them, but oh well whatever. Once ya get back on the ground. It's all over and you can get to work." Or where they needed to go, which of course Makoto did not want to think of going on a plane again. Not after he just got back here with his cute little girl. Luca would meet her eventually too. It would have happened today if the plane had been earlier, and on time. However he shook that off and figured they might as well go. Slipping his keys into his pocket he glanced at Luca. "Well come on then let's go. We'll find something good I hope hm?" He did hate the stories that ended in bad endings and criminal stories were no different. Well unless it was that one thing where they were different. But on that note he chuckled. Really some guy who wanted to see the world burn. There were so many people that one. Makoto knew that from personal experience though he'd never say anything about it. Let Luca discover more of these things as they worked on cases and actually got somewhere with things. Though he did not entirely want to work. Makoto could do with going home but a cop's work was never done. "If that is what you think. We can go then, you'll have to get used to this anyway. Not sleeping and all of that." After all a lot of the cops here worked double shifts, or the night shift instead of during the day. It depended. Makoto worked both quite often and left his cute girl with Rika. Hoping they wouldn't go anywhere and she couldn't get lost. He didn't want to find out that his daughter got lost because of Rika, like Ryuu had once or twice. Though she wasn't too much of an airhead now at the very least. So that was a pleasant thought to think of. However he'd also rather not talk about it now, knowing it might not end so well for him. He sighed lightly and just walked out to find his car, making sure Luca was following. Couldn't lose the new recruit on the first day either. That was not a pleasant idea either. He was ready to leave already and get this over with. Work was not something he wanted to deal with or get involved with again. He felt so tired, they were probably both tired but no of course rest was not even going to happen either. They'd figure it out later as he unlocked the car and climbed into his seat. Waiting for Luca to get in the other one. "Where we are going, you are very likely to get exercise. It'll be fun I bet. Now come on. Let's go." He was waiting for him to get into the car, though it wasn't likely it'd take him all that long. They be on there way shortly and he could go home then. Introducing Luca to everyone could wait till after a good nights sleep. Luca di Leone |
