We were the fire on the moonlit skies It was later during the night when Ryuu finally got home. He was tired and had somewhat of a headache from a trying day. Usually his days weren't so trying, but today just was. For starters, he'd been targeted by an assassin. That itself wasn't an issue...assassins were a regular business in the mafia. It was an issue, though...that he'd attacked in a public area and that both of them had gotten arrested. So sitting in jail after being attacked and then partially lectured by somebody he hadn't seen in years, and then by his mother afterwards.
He'd had to call Arashi and get him to deal with the record. That was trying too. Arashi had laughed for several minutes at him, before agreeing to it. Of course, as usual, Ryuu owed him a couple favors for his services; which, Ryuu expected. He wasn't really sure what sort of assassination job Arashi would give him, or when. Arashi liked being spontaneous with his requests. In general, he liked being obnoxious.
Ryuu contemplated telling Silvia about his arrest and the assassin. She'd definitely be mad about the former. Mafioso simply didn't get arrested. Granted, it really wasn't his fault and they had no knowledge of him in the mafia...it was still something she probably wouldn't be happy about. He so contemplating not telling her, but that might involve leaving the assassin out of the picture. Of course, she also could have heard about it on her way home. Either way, it was probably best to tell her himself rather than her find out later. He shook his head to himself, wondering when he'd gotten so whipped by his future wife.
Ryuu unlocked the apartment door, kicked off his shoes and lightly made his way into the kitchen, simultaneously calling out his fiancee's name. "Sil? Are you home?"

Her day had been pretty normal and average. That definitely meant something considering the role she played in the mafia but she never minded the normal days. They were a nice refreshment and balance to the days that were typically full to the brim with mafia type things to do. She probably wasn't nearly as busy as other certain figures in the mafia were but she had plenty to think about at the moment. The CEDEF were trying their best to handle the candidate situation that had been brought about by the CEDEF and Sawada-sama's children disagreeing. She hadn't been present at the meeting but nothing was kept secret for too long especially since she had been chosen as the storm guardian.
There would be no missions or flame related things to occupy her time today. She had plenty other things to occupy her time such as grade the finals and plan a wedding. Silvia was trying to do a majority of the work herself because she knew that her fiance was busy with finishing medical school and his residency at the hospital. He was always on call and when he wasn't he was either studying or sleeping. She was always free at night but most nights he wasn't home because he was at the hospital. They didn't get much alone time but that was okay. She may miss him when he was gone but once his residency was completed and he graduated from medical school she'd get more time to have him to herself. She'd just patiently wait for that time.
That was saying a lot coming from her however. She wasn't a naturally patient person so saying she'd wait to spend time with Ryuu without complaining was saying a lot. The storm guardian just went about her normal day especially since she was pretty sure that tonight was one of those rare nights they'd be able to spend time together. It was as she was travelling home that she had heard the whispering of wives about something that went on in the shopping district. It sounded like a normal fight until they mentioned something about swords. She didn't suspect anything right off the bat especially since nothing about flames or any flame like things had been mentioned. It wasn't until she got home that she started getting an inkling that something was amidst.
It was late and she still hadn't received a message telling her the he'd be home late. That was an odd thing considering it was Ryuu and he always texted her when he was gonna be late. At the point that she heard the sound of the door to their apartment opening, she had finished grading the tests and had been sitting at the kitchen table tapping her pen impatiently. The sound of light footsteps entering the kitchen and her nickname being called out didn't take long to reach her ears but she had already been watching the entrance to the room for him. One look at her would give away that she was beyond irritated that her fiance had returned home so late. She had thought, while only briefly, if she should pretend she wasn't mad then unleash her fury or just show her irritation right off the bat. The latter was the conclusion she had met but only because she didn't think she'd be able to hold it back so easily.
"Welcome home, Ryuunosuke." The tone she used let alone his full name would tell him that he wasn't in for a pleasant surprise. ♠ coded by heroin of gangnam style ♠

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Considering that it was coming up on the small break between the grading periods of school, it was going to be a nice thing to be able to spent at least some time with Silvia when he wasn't on call from the hospital. Granted, he was always on call...but at least he wouldn't have to go to class for the duration of the short summer break Japanese students received. He couldn't really fathom the American methods of schooling where they got three months off and went to school the other nine months out of the year. It seemed silly because many students would most likely forget everything that had been crammed into their heads over the school year.
Granted, since he actually hadn't dealt with the assassin on his tail who just seemed more invested in killing him than any other assassin he'd ever met. He hadn't recalled doing anything stupid enough to make somebody hate him so much...but maybe they were just hating on his family in general. Whatever it was, he wanted to figure it out. Besides...he'd sort of had some sort of warped sense of fun because fighting the guy had been fun.
Ryuu removed his shoes as he moved lightly through the apartment to greet his fiancee. He figured she was home because she usually didn't stay out late unless something came up in the mafia world and it wasn't long before she returned his greeting...only with the use of his full name. He winced slightly at the use of his full name. Nobody called him Ryuunosuke unless they were mad at him. At least she hadn't dropped the Yamamoto of his name...then he'd really be in trouble. "Uh...good evening, Silvia..." Ryuu greeted lightly, prepared for the tongue lashing he was about to receive. He should have known she probably would have heard something about what had gone on today. There wasn't anybody in the world who wouldn't talk about what had gone on that day; there'd be somewhat of a street brawl in the streets, a cabbage cart had been wrecked, so had a fire hydrant and Ryuu had abused some police officers on accident. People liked hearing news like that.
"Sooo...I guess you hard about what happened?" Ryuu stated a little bit slowly as he tested the waters. "Did you hear I got arrested for it, too? Totally not my fault. I didn't mean to throw that police officer...or destroy that fire hydrant, actually I totally meant to do that, but the cabbage cart wasn't intentional. He started it and I wasn't even using my swords because people...but it seriously wasn't my fault." At this point, Ryuu wondering if he should just shut up because he probably shouldn't have mentioned the entire reasoning of WHY he was arrested included destruction of property...and assaulting a police officer. He contemplating on just shutting up, but thought it pertinent to add in, in an attempt to change the subject from his own stupidity. "Makoto's back in town. He bailed me out of jail." He wasn't sure if Silvia remembered him...but he had been around shortly after his dad had died and offered his help with running the restaurant and dojo. At some point, his dad had been the one maintaining the restaurant and his mom the dojo. He helped with the restaurant and the transition into doing both. "He has an adorable little girl." At this point, he really should be quit because now it was just obvious he was attempting to change the subject. He was definitely destined for the couch that night.

Sometimes it was really hard getting things past the albino. She spent the entire day dealing with sneaky high school kids who were always trying to get away with everything or just thought they were the most clever people ever. She didn't miss a beat as Ryuu winced at the use of his full name instead of his much preferred nickname. That was usually the drill when he was in trouble, which might have been an imitation of his mother that turned habit over the years. He probably knew by now that hearing his full name even without the Yamamoto tacked on at the end meant he was in trouble.
This was made obvious by the way he just started rambling to defend himself. Well it didn't really start out like that but it almost sounded like that towards the end. Until he mentioned other people almost like he was attempting to change the subject. It was a good attempt not that it worked on her much. She wasn't easily distracted from the words he had said before mentioning that Makoto was back in town or that his daughter was really adorable. By this point, he had already dug himself into a pretty deep hole. It seemed that he liked the couch.
"I might have heard something about it." Silvia said as she folded her arms in front of her. "The neighborhood has eyes everywhere. However, you just confirmed that you were involved. I had only assumed."
He really had dug a deep hole for himself and there he could stay. She wondered if there would be any point to lecturing him about it because he should have known by now that getting into fights like that in public wasn't something he should be doing. She knew he had to know better about doing that but he also had the ability to move the fight to a better less crowded area. Something told her that this was going to be a problem for the CEDEF since it was close to their headquarters. The fact that he had described multiply reasons as to why he got put into jail before he was bailed out by Makoto was another thing.
There was the fact that he didn't actually use his sword but since the other guy had it still brought attention to them. Even if people weren't aware it had something to do with the mafia there were certain people connected to it that knew it was like the cop who bailed Ryuu out. She knew that he knew about the mafia and the role it played in Namimori and how the police were getting a lot smarter about the mafia it was starting to get risky. They needed to be more careful and all they needed was for him to owe a cop.
"You should know better but I don't think yelling at you will help much." Silvia said with a sigh but the air remained electric. "But don't think you got out of it! I just know it'll go in one ear and out the other. It always has." ♠ coded by heroin of gangnam style ♠

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu should have known that he wasn't going to be able to keep anything from Silvia's hawk-like vision or range of hearing. She worked in a high school for goodness sake. Her students couldn't even keep anything from here and there were a lot of them! What hope did Ryuu have hiding things from the woman who'd known him the longest and knew him the best. None. There was no hope for him now.
Ryuu flushed a bright shade of red as Silvia commented that she'd only assumed his involvement and he'd just confirmed it. God damn it! He could have denied it the entire time....although things would be double the trouble after that. Maybe it was better this way. Although, he couldn't help but put in a remark on her ability to assume that it was him. "Do you always assume that it's me causing problems?" he asked, hoping that she didn't always think that of him, even if it was true. He could be calm and collected and not cause problems sometimes! Arashi was more destructive than he was! Granted...he particularly enjoyed causing problems so Arashi was somewhat on purpose while Ryuu was usually done due to his own stupidity.
Ryuu rocked back on his feet slightly, looking rather unabashed by his previous comment or the fact that he'd caused some form of destruction. It hadn't been his fault! There was no reason to even blame him for any of it! Granted, it had been rather enjoyable...oh god. He wasn't going to become Arashi. "Like...I tried to talk him down a little bit...wasn't working. Believe me, fighting in public is one of the last things I want to do. Being arrested isn't fun and I don't like causing wanton destruction to people. Property is okay...but people...not as much. Unless I don't like them...then it's okay." Ryuu shook his head lightly. Things didn't always go in and then out! He processed some things he was told. "If he tries this stunt again, next time I'll retreat to a safe area and not get arrested..." he promised. "The last thing I want is for you to worry too much about me..." he stated quietly. He really did care and he didn't want anybody get hurt because of his own conflicts. He was the rain supposed to wash it away, not bring it to the Vongola.
"His surname is Maklakov - that's all I got on him so far," Ryuu stated evenly. "His father bailed him out of jail before I was..." Ryuu paused for a moment, debating on telling Silvia the entire thing and went for it. "I dunno...his dad creeped me the hell out..." Ryuu sighed lightly, continuing on to also explain that he would deal with Maklakov, but he didn't want to kill him. "I dunno...I don't really want to kill him. I think he's about my age, but he seemed so forced about everything...angry...I'm not sure why, but I intend to find out. I want you to keep your guard up though...I don't want him to try to go after you to lure me out or anybody else I care about, for that matter." Ryuu sat down on the couch in the living room. "When I have some free time, I'm going to do some research on him..." Ryuu smiled brightly, absently waving his hands around for a moment. "I really think he needs a hug, though. I won't hug him until I'm positive he's not going stab me in the back or something equally painful and deadly." Oh Ryuu...of course you want to hug the assassin who wants to kill you.

The albino didn't miss a beat as her fiance's face turned bright red as she caught him in her trap. He had known her since they were children so he should know her better than anyone at this point but things seemed to always slip his mind. She was surrounded by high schoolers every day who thought they were clever about half the things that they were doing but they never got away with it. That was how so many of the students didn't get to skip out on their career survey or even talk about not going to college. She was always there to encourage them to continue on in school because she wanted all her students to succeed. She had a keen eye and ear for these kinds of things.
It wasn't like she always thought Ryuu was up to no good. She knew he wasn't always being destructive to public property but they didn't need yet another incident. They had to be careful because of all the things she had been hearing about the police. They seemed to be determined now to prove that there was more than just the yakuza nestled in Namimori. It was a small town but it was growing every day and filling more with mafia activity. It was going to be difficult to keep the police from finding out but she could at least do her best to protect the Vongola from being found out. Well that was only if it wasn't too late already.
"I don't think that every problem is you. I just expect more out of you than the other people." Silvia said as a sigh escaped her lips. "I know that sometimes you can't avoid it."
The look that came up Ryuu's face made her drop her hands from her chest. She listened as he explained that he did try his best to talk down the person who had attacked him but wasn't able to succeed. Well, she guessed that he couldn't really help that. He could have made the person move from the area that they had been in, however, since he seemed to be keen on the idea of fighting. She knew that he was genuinely sorry for what had happened though and all she was really upset about was the fact that he could have gotten hurt. It was really hard to stay made at him when he said things like that and it was really frustrating to her. He knew his position and what role that they both played as well as the other guardians did in Namimori and the mafia world.
"It would be a lot smarter to do that next time if there is a next time." Silvia said finally after giving him her full attention. "Do you really think that he would do it again? Attack you I mean."
The idea of this guy attacking Ryuu again did worry her a bit because of all the trouble that he had already caused in the first place. What if he accidentally exposed the mafia? She left her thoughts when she heard Ryuu speak up again and start talking about the one who had attacked him and made him end up in jail. From the sound of his name, he had to be Russian or at least had some Russian in him and he was bailed out by his father. She raised an eyebrow as he said that this assassin's father kind of creeped him out. What did that mean? Well knowing that he might be somewhere around Ryuu's age would definitely make it easier to figure out just who he was.
Silvia watched Ryuu move to the couch that they had in the living room of their apartment and pouted when he said that he'd research him when he had some free time. That meant that she'd lose her own time with Ryuu. She could also do it in her free time since she typically had more than he had especially since he'd have to make up tonight to her. There was the sunny disposition that her fiance usually had but she didn't know if she exactly agreed with it at the moment. This guy did just try to kill him and he was worried about her safety but he wanted to hug the guy. At least he said he wouldn't try to give him one until he was sure he wouldn't try to stab him or something when he does it.
"You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine. I'm more worried about you." Silvia said as she walking into the living room. "If he wants to kill you, he might attack you when you're more tired from work. You're residency hasn't really been kind to you at all. So please don't try to hug him any time soon. I don't want anything happening to you." She continued as she leaned down to kiss his forehead softly. ♠ coded by heroin of gangnam style ♠

We were the fire on the moonlit skies Ryuu didn't really know what else to add. He was definitely in trouble with his fiance, but it still totally wasn't his fault! And she knew it it was just that she expected him to be a responsible adult. It was sometimes annoying that she expected adult out of him almost constantly...he really had never had the opportunity to be a child after his father had died. Between stepping up his training, school, and finally being taught the art of killing by Squalo...Silvia had always dragged him to school on the off-chance he'd felt like being irresponsible and not going...on more than one occasion, he'd actually had to get up and hide from her so she couldn't do that. Only a few times was he actually sick and she did actually let him remain home. That was the problem with having somebody who wanted to be a teacher as your best friend...
It was always pretty easy to get Silvia to forgive him though. It was the puppy face that did it...but he did feel like laughing as she asked if really would attack him again. Of course! Their fight was left undone and Ryuu just didn't want to leave it unfinished. It was just the way he was. He was a bit of a fighting maniac when it came down to it, in general. It was hard to believe sometimes, considering his laid back personality and his famil in general...but he did love a good fight and the other had given it to him. He wasn't just going to leave it undone. Even if it meant going after him himself. He wouldn't tell Silvia
Ryuu shrugged his shoulders, thinking about it for a moment. "We didn't finish our fight..." he stated rather evenly. "If he's anything like me...then he won't want to leave this fight unfinished." Despite Ryuu's position as the Rain Guardian, supposed to be the "Tranquilizing" rain, Ryuu was quite the opposite and did enjoy fighting. Perhaps it was the fact that he had somehow wound up with Hibari in his family, or training to be an assassin with Squalo and the volatile Varia that got him living fighting and destruction. He wasn't regularly destructive though - Arashi was the destructive one for the most part. He'd gone on jobs with the other before, when they were younger and when it came to training and Arashi just wasn't subtle. Oh they're in that abandoned warehouse? Let's bring down the entire building on their heads! Maybe Arashi just rubbed off on him for him to love fighting. He didn't know. But he knew he loved a good fight and was a little bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Ryuu couldn't help but feel that spending his free time researching a guy trying to kill him probably would disappoint Silvia...he already had little free time with his schedule as it was. He was hoping to be done with everything by the time a new Vongola boss rolled into the position of leadership. They'd already had one as guardians, but he had decided that he couldn't handle it after a year. Part of him resented him for it, but knew that they needed a strong leader. The fact that the mafia world was relatively quiet at the moment, even with the mafia's most powerful family without a boss was kind of unnerving to Ryuu. It was like a quiet before a storm. "Well...since Arashi /didn't/ have to bail me out of jail, I'll ask him to do it...I'll owe him a favor...but usually it's him just telling me to do a job so Squalo won't yell at either of us for me letting my 'natural assassin skills go to waste." Squalo hadn't trained Ryuu to be an assassin just for him to not work when he had the opportunity to.
"We get such little time together...so it can wait for now..." Ryuu stated, pulling Silvia down onto the couch with him and cuddling into her. He was in trouble with her, but that wouldn't stop him from cuddling with her when he got such little time to do so. It wasn't like their couch was uncomfortable, either. Between both their jobs, what extra money Ryuu made on the side as an assassin - and the extra money he made selling the boxes and rings he got from his jobs on the black market. Most of it went back into savings for future generations - more specifically, his future. He didn't make a Varia salary with his job - Arashi was a cheapskate and paid him as outside help instead of an actual member of the Varia. It wasn't that big of a deal, though. Just more obnoxious from Arashi's penny-pinching. He blamed Mammon for that.
"The next couple days are specifically for you...because mom would murder me otherwise because she says she wants to do wedding planning stuff and I'm extremely terrified of her right now during this process," Ryuu stated, sprawling out on the couch openly with a groan. "She says she wants the wedding small, but considering we are Vongola guardians...she wants to make the reception pretty big - inviting allied families and whatnot...and I'm not sure how mentally prepared I am for mom trying to pair everybody up..." He kind of wished his mom had somebody to go to his wedding with though...he pushed the thought out of his mind because there was no way he was going to try to pair his mom up with somebody because that was weird. Instead, he just snuggled more into Silvia, partially holding her done on the couch by wrapping his arms around her. "We should go out on a date tomorrow..." he mused lightly, contemplating on what they could do. They could go to mafia land or something...maybe the zoo? He didn't know. He'd sleep on it.
